"Hannah Montana" is a show on the Disney Channel about a girl who lives two lives, one as a normal teenager who goes to school, and the other is a famous pop star. So she has to balance the two, and try not to let other kids at school find out that she is Hannah Montana because she thinks that if everyone finds out, they will treat her differently. On the show, Miley's real life dad, Billy Ray Cyrus plays her father and manager, and Jason Earles plays her brother, Jackson.Premiere Date: March 24, 2006.

The character was originally named Zoe Stewart and then changed to Chloe Stewart. On the day the pilot episode was shot the name changed again to Miley Stewart. Cyrus stated that the producers named the character after her because "They just thought I was like the character."[4] Cyrus also influenced other aspects of the character including her Tennessean roots. Her casting also led to the casting of her real life father, Billy Ray Cyrus, as her character's father in the show.
Lillian "Lilly" Truscott (Emily Osment) is the best friend of Miley Stewart and girlfriend to Oliver Oken. Under the alias Lola Luftnagle, she is also close friends with Hannah Montana and part of her entourage. "Lola" has a huge crush on Orlando Bloom, in the episode "The Test Of My Love", Lola is talking to Miley and she says when Orlando finally mets her she with watch "The Lily Bloom". Lilly is the only character other than Miley and Jackson to appear in every episode.
Oliver Oscar Oken (Mitchel Musso) is the off again/on again best friend to Miley Stewart and boyfriend to Lilly Truscott. He uses the alias Mike Standley III while attending events with Hannah Montana in order to keep Miley's secret. Sometimes Oliver makes fun of Miley along with Lilly. A running gag is that Miley, Lilly, or both hit him.
According to the Hannah Montana backstory, Robby grew up in fictional Bufford County, Tennessee in a large family with eight brothers and sisters. He has a twin brother named Bobby Ray (Billy Ray Cyrus) and a brother named Earl who is seen In the episode Sorry Uncle Earl, and often spoken of. His mother is Ruthie Stewart (Vicki Lawrence), known to his children as "Mammaw." He has a close relationship with Dolly Parton who is his children's godmother.
Jackson Rod Stewart (Jason Earles) is the older teenage brother of Miley Stewart and son of Robby Stewart. He is known for his goofy, lazy and disgusting habits. Jackson is a very regular character in Hannah Montana. Along with only Miley and Lilly, he has appeared in every single episode. In the episode "He Could Be the One," Jackson does not take part in the actual story, but appears as a third-person omniscient narrator, although even in this role he appears in character.
Rico (Moises Arias) is the young manager of "Rico's Surf Shop," a concession stand located on the beach near the Stewarts' home. He most commonly interacts with Jackson, his employee, despite the fact that Rico is several years younger. In the second season he also attends school with Miley, Lilly, and Oliver. Rico generally acts as the antagonist in the series and is the only major character to not know Miley's secret, however since he definitely knows Robby Ray's past as the "Honkeytonk Heartthrob," he could easily work it out for himself.
